Competition rules

The latest rules of the Japan Association of Athletics Federations (JAAF) and the rules of this competition shall apply.

Athletes who are 18 years old or older (excluding high school students) on the day of the event and who are registered with the Japan Association of Athletics Federations in 2023 and can complete the race within 6 hours from the starting gun.

*Entry is accepted on the official website of the tournament(https://saitama-marathon.jp/). It ends as soon as it reaches the capacity.

*When applying, you need to register as a RUNNET member (free) in advance.

*An entry fee of 220 yen (tax included) will be charged if the total payment is 4,000 yen or less, and 5.5% (tax included) of the total payment will be charged if the total payment is 4,001 yen or more.

*Those who donate Saitama City Hometown Support (50,000 yen or more) can participate in the marathon section (50 people in total, limited to residents outside Saitama City, on a first-come, first-served basis). In addition, those who donate 60,000 yen or more can participate in the premium runner category or the beginner support category (5 people in each category are limited to residents outside Saitama City, on a first-come, first-served basis).

Competition method
  1. In each category, if the finish is not completed within the time limit, the competition will be cancelled.
  2. For the marathon and 8km divisions, barriers will be set for traffic, security, and competition management. In addition, the competition will be canceled if there is a significant delay even at points other than the checkpoint.
  3. Competitors who have passed the checkpoint closing time and those who have been ordered to stop the race must remove their athlete bibs and get into the designated pick-up car.
Commendation

<Marathon section, 8km section>
Awards will be given to the top finishers in each event. Details will be published on the official website of the event.

<Wheelchair section, Enjoy run section, Parent-child run section>
No awards will be given.

Measurement/Finisher certificate
  1. There will be no time measurement in the wheelchair section and parent-child run section.
  2. Completion certificates will only be issued electronically on the official website of the race, and will not be issued in paper form.
About athlete bibs and measurement chips

Athlete bibs, measurement chips, etc. to be used on the day will be sent to all participants in advance. Please be sure to bring it with you on the day of the event as it will not be accepted at the venue. If you forget it, you may not be able to run.

<Wheelchair section, Parent-Child Run section>

Participation guide

As a general rule, the participation guide will not be sent in paper form, but will be distributed in electronic form.
Therefore, regarding the participation guide, please download the electronic data that will be uploaded to this website in the future, save it on your smartphone, etc., or print it out. If you wish to have your entries sent on paper, please indicate your preference in the confirmation items during the entry procedure (on the RUNNET entry site). It will be sent in advance separately from athlete bibs, measurement chips, etc.

Tournament program

The competition program will be distributed electronically. For those who wish to receive the tournament program on paper, it will be issued for a fee (500 yen). If you wish to have your certificate issued on paper, please indicate your preference in the confirmation items during the entry procedure (on the RUNNET entry site). The details of the delivery method, etc. will be announced again by e-mail, etc. from the event secretariat.

Handling of personal information
  1. Organizers, etc. recognizes the importance of personal information, comply with laws and related laws and regulations concerning the protection of personal information, and handle personal information based on the organizer’s personal information protection policy.
    In addition, the acquired personal information will be used for qualification screening of the event, program organization and creation, record announcement, official website, other communication necessary for event management and athletics , information on events related to the organizer, event sponsorship / It will be used for services provided by cooperating organization.
  2. This event may be broadcasted on television or via the Internet.
  3. Videos, photographs, articles, and personal records of the event may be used in TV, radio, newspaper and other media by the organizer or a third party approved by the organizer for the purpose of operation and publicity of the event.
Others
  1. If the event is canceled for reasons not attributable to the organizer, the entry fee will not be refunded.
  2. The organizer will not conduct a health check. It is your responsibility to participate in the best possible health.
  3. The organizer will provide first-aid measures for accidents that occur during the competition, but will not be held responsible thereafter.
Application terms
  • Cancellation after application for personal reasons is not possible, and the entry fee will not be refunded.
  • False declaration of age, records, etc., and participation by anyone other than the applicant will not be accepted. If fraud is discovered, not only will participation be revoked, but future applications for the event may be refused. In this case, the entry fee will not be refunded.
  • We do not refund overpayments or duplicate payments.
  • It is not possible to transfer the participation right other than “Yuzururu”. If a transfer is found, it will be disqualified.
  • The organizer will not be held responsible for any injuries, illnesses, incidents, accidents, etc. that occur during the event, except those caused intentionally or by gross negligence on the part of the organizer.
  • The entry fee will not be refunded if the event is canceled due to reasons not attributable to the organizer, such as disasters, weather conditions, incidents, accidents, infectious diseases, etc.
  • The organizer is not responsible for delays in registration or payment due to problems with internet equipment or lines.
  • The right of portrait and right to publish applicant’s name, age, address (country name, name of prefecture or name of municipality name), video, photo etc. on television, newspapers, magazines, internet, etc. belong to the organizer.
  • This event will be held in compliance with domestic laws and regulations.
  • The organizer will hold the event in accordance with the tournament rules, etc., in addition to these application rules.
  • You may not be able to apply depending on the device, OS, and browser software you use.
  • Clothing that goes against laws and public order and morals, clothing that makes political or religious statements, or clothing that advertises companies, organizations, or individuals not approved by the organizer is not permitted. If the organizer determines that any of the above applies, it may not allow participation and may cancel the competition even after the start. In this case, the entry fee will not be refunded.
  • Minors must obtain the consent of their parents before applying.
