Application Guidelines
Volunteer Member
Volunteers: 5,000 (first-come, first-served)
The number of openings is subject to change.
■Individual (1 person): Works with other volunteers.
■Groups (2-9 members): 2-9 members work together in the same place and with the same content.
■Groups (10 or more): 10 or more people working in the same place and with the same content.
■Family Quota (2-6 students): Families will work together in the same place and with the same content. At least one parent/guardian over 18 years old is required for every one or two children/students from 1st grade to 3rd grade of junior high school.
Grandparents, older brothers and sisters, etc. may participate as guardians if they are 18 years of age or older.
■Be 15 years of age or older as of the date of activity (excluding junior high school students)
Participants under 15 years of age may participate in the program if they are in a group, organization, or family quota and there is at least one person over 18 years of age who will be supervising them.
Minors are required to have a parent or guardian’s written consent to participate in activities. However, minors participating in group, group, or family activities do not need a consent form only if there is an adult supervising them in the group.
■Ability to work at the designated place and time on the activity day
Activities will be prolonged and will be mostly standing.
The Saitama Marathon Volunteer Secretariat (hereinafter referred to as the “Volunteer Secretariat”) Volunteers who are able to participate in the volunteer information session designated by the Volunteer Secretariat (hereinafter referred to as the “Volunteer Secretariat”).
■If native language is other than Japanese, must be able to speak, read and write Japanese on a daily basis.
Those who are able to participate in volunteer activities and comply with other precautions for volunteer participation set forth by the Volunteer Office.
When applying for the group/organization/family category, you must be able to select one representative to coordinate the volunteer members.
■Original convention staff wear (As part of our commitment to the SDGs, we ask those who have staff wear from the previous and previous conventions to reuse it.)
QUO CARD (500 yen)
No compensation, meals, or transportation will be provided.
No warm clothes, raincoats, rain shoes, etc. will be provided. Please take your own measures to protect yourself from the cold. (Please refrain from working under umbrellas in the rain, as it is dangerous.)
Supplies will be provided at the volunteer orientation meeting.
If you are absent on the day of the activity, please return the supplied items. You will be responsible for shipping costs.
Supplied items are subject to change without notice.
Please do not sell your items at flea markets, auctions, etc.

The Saitama Marathon 2026 is a project covered by the “Discover Yourself! Challenge up Saitama”.
The program is open to residents/students of the city who are between 4th grade and 18 years of age.

As part of our commitment to the SDGs, we are asking those who have staff wear from the previous and two previous conventions to reuse it. If you are willing to reuse staff wear from the previous and previous two conventions, you will receive an original convention neck warmer to use during activities!

When you apply, you will be asked to select your first to third choices for the block in which you would like to work. The decision on the activity area will be announced at the same time as the volunteer information session. Please note that due to the capacity of the available blocks, you may be assigned to work in a block that you have not requested, or in a block that you have requested at a lower level.
Activity times will vary depending on the activity. Also, the activity time and meeting place may change from the above.
Activities will be determined by the volunteer office.
Shuttle buses will be available for “Harayama/Nakao Area”, “Midori Area”, “Koshigaya Area” and part of “Urawa Area”.

On the day of the activity
∙ You will be working in each activity area on Sunday, February 8, 2026. Let’s enjoy the convention together!
Please read the following instructions if you wish to participate in volunteer activities.
Before application
- Cancellation after application due to personal reasons is not allowed.
- Those who participate as runners on the day of the event are not eligible to apply to be a volunteer.
- If you have any health concerns such as pre-existing medical conditions, please consult your doctor before applying.
- The online application form is only available for PCs and smartphones. You may not be able to apply from cell phones other than smartphones.
- Please make sure to enter your e-mail address and mailing address correctly in order to avoid non-delivery of various notifications from the Volunteer Office.
- If you have set up a domain-specified receiving system, please either cancel the setting or set it so that you can receive e-mails from “saitamavoloffice@gmail.com”, “@apply.e-tumo.jp”, and “@saitamasc.jp”.
- If you do not receive any notification from the Volunteer Office, we will not confirm your registration details.
After application
- Information about the orientation will be sent by e-mail or mail. If you apply as a group, organization, or family, only the representative of the group or organization will be sent the participation information.
- The notified briefing schedule, activity area, activity content, and participants cannot be changed, nor can substitutions be made.
- Please contact the Volunteer Office if you need to make any corrections to your registration information, such as your address.
- If you are unable to participate on the day of the activity due to unavoidable circumstances, please be sure to contact the Volunteer Office.
■Day of activity
- No late arrivals or early departures are allowed. Please be sure to arrive at the meeting time indicated and stay until the end of the activity.
- No substitutions are allowed on the day of the activity.
- On the day of the activity, there is no place to change clothes. Please come dressed in comfortable clothes in advance.
- On the day of the activity, please wear the staff wear that will be provided in advance. Activities in clothing that is offensive to the law or public order and morals, that may cause discomfort or danger to runners or supporters, or that is not appropriate for a sporting event will not be permitted. If the organizers and the Volunteer Secretariat deem an activity to be inappropriate on the day of the event, the volunteer may be asked to cancel the activity.
- There is no place to leave luggage on the day of the activity. Neither the organizers nor the Volunteer Office will be responsible for any loss of valuables or luggage.
- The organizer will provide insurance coverage (at no cost to the individual). . In the event of an accident or injury, the insurance coverage will be applied. The insurance coverage will be based on the contents of the contract, and will not apply in the event of failure to comply with the instructions of the organizer and the Volunteer Secretariat or in the event that it is deemed inappropriate.

-Permanent disability: 4-100% of 1,000,000 yen
-Hospitalization medical compensation/ Outpatient medical compensation: The insurance amount varies depending on the number of days of hospitalization/outpatient visits. - The organizers reserve the right to publish images, photographs, articles, and records of volunteer activities on TV, newspapers, magazines, the Internet, posters, pamphlets, the official website, and other media after the next convention, as well as portrait rights. In addition, the organizer may publish the names of the volunteers in the official program and other media prepared or released by the organizer.
- The competition may be covered by various media outlets, and may be broadcast on television and streamed on the Internet.
- The organizers and the Volunteer Secretariat will not be held responsible for any problems that may arise from the posting of texts and photos related to the event on social networking sites.
- The organizers and event management staff may ask you to stop your volunteer activities if you do not comply with these precautions or any other rules and regulations for volunteer activities stipulated by the event, if you cause trouble to other volunteer participants, if you interfere with the operation of the event, or if they deem you unsuitable for such activities.
The organizer and Saitama Marathon Volunteer Office recognize the importance of personal information and will acquire personal information by fair and appropriate means, comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and related laws and regulations, and handle personal information within the scope indicated below.

Name, date of birth, address, telephone number, e-mail address, emergency contact name and telephone number
■Purpose of Use
- Contacting and confirming the details of applications for volunteer activities, informing about the details of activities, holding information sessions, managing attendance, sending related materials, and confirming registration information
- Requests for questionnaires and reports for the purpose of facilitating volunteer activities.
- Information from the Volunteer Office and next time when recruiting volunteers for the conference
- Information and notification of other events related to the organizer
■When providing the information to a third party
- When requested by the insurance company of the compensation insurance that the sponsor subscribes to.
- When the management company of the facility you are using requires you to submit a list of names for entry management purposes for security or disaster prevention reasons when holding a briefing session
- When it is necessary to submit information to related businesses or contractors within the scope of volunteer operations
Only official sponsors are granted the right to call the marathon “Saitama Marathon 2026.
No naming rights are granted to organizations participating in volunteer activities. Please understand this in advance.
The use of the “Saitama Marathon 2026” name or trademark for the purpose of advertising or PR for organizations participating in volunteer activities is prohibited.
However, this does not apply to items that have been approved by the organizer.
