Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan K.K., a sponsor of the Saitama Marathon 2025, and the Saitama Marathon 2025 will collaborate in the area of resource recycling.
Saitama Marathon 2025″ to be held on Sunday, March 16, 2025 (hosted by Saitama City, Saitama Sports Commission, and Saitama Athletics Association) will be held as a “Bottle to Bottle” (*) initiative to horizontally recycle used PET bottles collected at water stations. The goal of this initiative is to reduce the amount of waste generated at the Games and to operate the Games in a way that promotes a sustainable society.
(*) Used PET bottles are collected and processed for recycling before being recycled as PET bottles and used as beverage containers.

Bottle to Bottle” process to be implemented for the Saitama Marathon 2025
The Saitama Marathon began its “Bottle to Bottle” initiative in cooperation with Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan K.K. at the previous Saitama Marathon. The “Saitama Marathon in Saitama Stadium” (Note 1), a related event, also started the “Bottle to Bottle” initiative, which will be continued in the “Saitama Marathon 2025”.
At the Saitama Marathon 2025, the empty PET beverage bottles provided to runners at each water station will be separated into caps, labels, and PET bottles and collected with the cooperation of volunteer staff who support the water supply. The collected PET bottles are crushed, washed, and recycled into raw materials, which are then used as containers for Coca-Cola products at our plants. In addition, messages about “Bottle to Bottle” will be posted at water stations and other locations along the course to promote understanding of the recycling of used PET bottles among participating runners, spectators, and other visitors.
